WDBC Welcomes Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. as the Newest Member of the WDBC Advisors Group

Established in 1993, Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. pursues civil construction in Southeast Kansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Southwest Missouri. Initially focusing on bridge and roadway projects, the company has expanded over the years into water and wastewater treatments facilities, structural concrete, municipal and site utilities, and earthwork along with a variety of other civil oriented projects. The company is headquartered in Columbus Kansas, with offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in Rogers, Arkansas. 

Crossland’s mission as a quality contractor not only addresses their projects, but is also embedded in their relationships with owners, engineers and consultants. The company approaches each project as if it were a partnership, knowing that  clients’ goals for a project closely mirror its own – a safe, timely and quality built project. 

As a new member benefit, WDBC will conduct an education and training session on the best practices for design-build delivery in the water infrastructure is scheduled Monday, July 20.

Becoming a Part of WDBC's Advisor Group

The WDBC Advisor program was established for financial and legal firms, consultants, contractors and vendors, trade associations and academia institutions working in the water design-build industry. A special community forum is also being established for Advisor Group use in providing input to WDBC members.

As a part of WDBC's Advisor Group, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in workgroups/committees to develop industry products, such as practitioner guides that improve the practice of collaborative project delivery
  • Offer valuable input into ongoing industry research, surveys and studies
  • Have the opportunity to support WDBC in its ongoing education and outreach activities
  • Have access to selected WDBC member publications, research documents and education tools

WDBC Board Member, Brian Daly, Hired as Vice President and Integrated Project Delivery Manager for Parsons Water Division

Daly-140765-editedWDBC member firm Parsons announced earlier this month that Brian W. Daly has joined the company as Vice President & Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Manager of its Water Division. In this role, he will lead, help to identify and position Parsons for design-build, progressive design-build, design-build-operate (DBO), construction-management-at-risk opportunities. From Parson’s Boston, MA. Office, Brian will lend his technical knowledge to deliver successful outcomes on complex water programs. 

Brian has over 22 years of experience in the water and wastewater sector as well as the industrial and solid waste markets. In his previous capacity with another industry firm, he was the North American Business Development Manager for its water design-build practice and also developed successful teaming agreements for large DBO programs. 

Brian’s expertise with design-build and collaborative delivery methods, particularly progressive design-build options, will be a tremendous asset to Parsons as we continue to expand beyond traditional delivery methods,” said Virginia Grebbien, Parsons Group President. 

Parsons also hired Jeffery Kishel as Vice President & Water Deputy Division Manager to assist the company’s environment and infrastructure business unit with global management of the Water Division, focusing and leading the team in business development and market growth strategy. With more than 30 years of experience in marketing and general management in engineering consulting and construction, Kishell previously worked as the Director of Water Business for a leading provider of engineering, construction, and technical services. 


Innovative Financing - Paving the Way for the Water Resources Utility of the Future

innovative_financingWDBC Vice President Leofwin Clark conveyed to NACWA attendees at the 45th annual conference the message as to the role that design-build delivery has for achieving their vision of the Utility of the Future. Design-Build is a foundational approach to this topic – collaborative delivery is fundamental to the goals of the Water Resources Utility of the Future vision and to Innovative Financing.
