LEARN THE DELIVERY METHODS OWNERS ARE USING MOST FOR THEIR PROJECTS – AND WHY COLLABORATIVE DELIVERY IS NO LONGER AN “ALTERNATIVE”
The results of the WDBC’s newly released 2018 Annual Research Report on Collaborative-Delivery Use and Growth in the Water and Wastewater Sector by Rubin Mallows Worldwide reports a significant increase in the use of collaborative-delivery methods by owners in the water/wastewater industry and that more intend to do so in the future. The drivers behind this upsurge are compelling - providing owners the ability to be involved in the process and manage their project's design through the collaborative process, address complex issues, and navigate the regulatory requirements.
Collaborative-delivery methods - defined as progressive design-build, fixed-price design-build, and construction management at-risk – have now evolved as the preferred options in the U.S. water and wastewater market. Based on the recent research data, these delivery methods are no longer considered new, alternative, or experimental. In fact, today most states have enabling legislation for design-build projects allowing collaborative-delivery methods to become very much a part of the procurement toolkit within U.S. water and wastewater utilities.
