Message From WDBC's 2015 President David Kinchen: A Year Of Industry Accomplishments Capstones A Decade Of Progress

As the final weeks of being President of the Water Design-Build Council concluded in 2015, I have been continually amazed by what we have accomplished within the very spirit of collaboration that is design build.  Over the past year, the Water Design-Build Council has held true to its mission:

"To evolve best practices for successful implementation of water projects through collaborative delivery methods – by facilitating thought leadership through education, research and communication."

The Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Facility: San Diego's Water Portfolio Expands With Creative Thinking

It is also the only water source in the county that is not dependent on rainfall or snowpack.

WDBC Education Programs Answer Your Questions and Prepare You to Manage a Design-Build Project

Research about industry’s education needs has revealed that managers have a high level of satisfaction with the training provided by WDBC. The reason? WDBC’s education and training about design-build delivery focuses on what water infrastructure industry members say they need to know about the differences in the various project delivery methods.

These complimentary training sessions are structured to respond to the fundamental questions that arise when making a decision about whether to pursue design-build delivery, and the type of organizational structure an agency should have to manage a design-build project. The content of WDBC’s training programs is derived from the Municipal Water/Wastewater Design-build Handbook, with additional input from WDBC staff and members.
