WDBC Releases 5 New Guideline Documents for Use with Water Design-Build Infrastructure Projects

Focusing on the subjects that owners and managers tell us they “want to know more about,” the WDBC’s new guideline documents expand upon principles and practices that facilitate a successful water infrastructure project using collaborative delivery methods. All of the documents are located in the Owners Resources section of the WDBC website and include:

In addition, the subject matter in these guidelines are also included in WDBC’s Education Programs.  WDBC is the only non-profit organization who provides education materials and training about design-build delivery for the water infrastructure.

A Model of Design-Build Collaboration – Weslaco, TX Water Treatment Plant

The lessons about the successes achieved through a design-build project are described in the profile about the Weslaco, Texas Water Treatment Plant. With early involvement by the design-builder, CDM Smith, critical financing was obtained which has ultimately led to a dramatic accomplishment of significant cost savings at 70 percent of project completion.
