Owners Lessons Learned with Design-Build Projects
2015 DBIA Conference Thursday, March 12 - San Antonio, Texas
Join WDBC Board Member Steve Gates, Vice President of Brown & Caldwell, at the March 12th session at the DBIA Conference in San Antonio, Texas for the first presentation on WDBC’s research study findings about “Utility Executives and Project Managers Experiences and Lessons Learned in Using Design-Build for Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects.”
These findings reinforce the continued use and growth of design-build delivery in the industry, the ongoing need for education and identification of the important lessons these experienced owners want to pass onto other owners.
Design-Build Delivery Scores Another Home Run for Collaboration
Read how the town of Sullivan's Island, located on a barrier island in South Carolina, immediately south of Mt. Pleasant and east of Charleston, addressed its storm water, inflow and infiltration issues with an innovative design-build solution. This project reinforces the "lessons learned" of town officials in how to solve their dramatic problem.
Blog Spotlight: Answering Questions About CMAR and Design-Build Delivery

During a recent education and discussion session with a state regulatory agency the following questions pertaining to the differences in design-build and CMAR delivery were addressed. The responses on these topics are provided for others information as well. Currently, most State SRF and DWRF programs require completion and approval of design prior to construction as well as a competitive bidding process.
