WDBC Welcomes New Member Sundt Construction, Inc.
Sundt Construction, Inc. was founded in 1890. Sundt employs 2,000+ employees and is distinguished by its diverse capabilities and experience, unique ESOP employee-ownership culture and depth of self-perform expertise in more than 10 major trades.
Since 1948, Sundt has been a trusted builder for water and wastewater treatment, with more than 60 plants in the last 15 years. Today, they remain at the forefront of treatment technologies, delivering advanced water treatment facilities for indirect potable reuse and zero liquid discharge (ZLD). Whether expanding or improving facilities, or constructing new ones, they provide cost certainty and minimal disruptions to operations. Their value engineering and constructability recommendations maximize construction dollars for rate payers. They find ways to expedite schedules to deliver capacity sooner. Their collaborative approach to project delivery is based on meeting client needs, including options for CMAR, design-build, and CM/GC delivery. They have experience with several advanced technologies, including filtration, membrane treatment (including reverse osmosis) desalination, advanced oxidation, brine recovery, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD).
Representing Sundt on the WDBC Board of Directors is Greg Ayers, Vice President of the Water and Advanced Technology Sector for the Industrial Group. Greg has more than 24 years of experience managing industrial, water and wastewater treatment facilities, mining, residential, and light rail projects. He is a leader in collaborating with clients, project teams, and field staff. With more than 20 years of collaborative-delivery experience, he works closely with clients and project teams to ensure that projects are executed successfully.
New Advisor Member Kokosing Industrial Joins WDBC
Kokosing is an Ohio-based family-owned and operated multi-faceted construction company founded in 1951. With annual revenues exceeding $1.5 billion, Kokosing is ranked as the 64th largest construction company in the United States (Engineering News-Record).
Kokosing Industrial is one of the largest self-performing water and wastewater contractors in the Midwest. Their rich history in the water market dates back nearly 50 years when they constructed their first water treatment plant in Ohio. Today, Kokosing has constructed numerous innovative, challenging, and award-winning state-of-the-art water and wastewater facilities. Kokosing offers construction management at-risk, design-build, and EPC collaborative-delivery solutions for both public and private clients.
Dennis Tinkler, PE, Senior Business Development Manager, is representing Kokosing on the WDBC Advisor Board. Dennis worked for over 25 years as a consulting engineer providing innovative engineering solutions for both water and wastewater facilities and, in the last decade, Dennis has led business development on collaborative-delivery projects working for a general contractor. Dennis focuses on good communication and fairness between team partners to achieve results and build trust on collaborative-delivery projects.
The alternate representative is Todd Schurig, PE, DBIA, Project Development Manager for Kokosing Industrial. With over 23 years of management experience on infrastructure and commercial projects, Todd is focused on growing Kokosing’s water/wastewater market share by leading pursuits on collaborative-delivery projects and by advocating the design-build message throughout the Midwest with owner education presentations on design-build.
